Beltway 8 Construction

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has begun construction along Beltway 8 Southbound Frontage Road between I-10 and Boheme Drive. The objective of this project is to reconstruct the southbound frontage road pavement along this location which is scheduled to take six months to complete. TxDOT informed COH District G's office of construction only occurring on the southbound frontage road with no plans for any construction along the northbound lanes.

TxDOT has ensured Portable Changeable Message Sign ("P.C.M.S.") boards will be present to display information regarding nighttime closures and/or total road closures of the southbound lanes. The P.C.M.S. boards will display notice of closures, if needed, 7 days prior for all travelers and residents within the area. Additionally, TxDot will have traffic and road updates available via the Transtar Website, Houston TranStar Traffic Map, throughout the project.
